Tapering off of Effexor Help

Hi,

I'm switching from Effexor 150mg to Lexapro 20mg. My doctor started me with 10mg daily and had me take Effexor 150mg every other day for a week. Last night was my first 48 hour period without Effexor and I am struggling - stomach cramps, nausea, a few weeping spells, etc. What has been helpful for other people switching between medications? Is it worth it to ride out the withdrawal effects? Or is it better to keep tapering off the Effexor in smaller doses? I'm having trouble getting ahold of my doctor and the Effexor I have are extended-release capsules, so I don't know if I can take half.

Any suggestions is much appreciated! Thanks!
