Tapering off sertraline

Posted , 2 users are following.

Hi everyone I was on 100mgs of sertraline for 81/2 wks with little improvement. So I’ve weaned down to 50mgs for a week. And then starting to drop to 25mgs. So that I can go back on to paroxatine. Does any1 if it’s ok if I can start taking 15 or 20 mgs of paroxatine while tapering sertraline . Any advice or reassurance please

Hi Debra i was on 10mg of citalopram which I had to take with sertraline when I first started to take it. I had to have the citalopram every other day then stop after a week whilst taking the sertraline. Hope this helps Debra x

Thanks Pamela for ure reply. I just don’t know how much paroxatine to start at. EIther 10/15 or 20. I think the doctor said after weaning off sertraline I’m sure he said he was going to put me on 30mgs of paroxatine.i just don’t know what the reckermend dose would be. Any advice please Pamela 🌹

I would of thought he would of recommended the starting dose as starting 30mg is quite high and you might get horrible side effects. I know you were on them for 20 years but you haven't had any of your old medication for a while so I would of thought the lowest dose so your body would get use to them again.
