Tarsal Tunnel Release

Hi,

i had a trimalleolar fracture in April of 2018, it was surgically repaired with two plates and 14 pins. i had 6 months of physical therapy but was still have issues with range of motion along with almost total neuropathy of the bottom of my foot. i had another surgery in dec of 2018 to remove the hardware and break up the scar tissue. It was a partial success with range of motion and being able to move my toes, but still had little feeling in my foot and the most horrible nerve pain. Did another 3 months of PT and tried multiple medication, even medical marijuana(legal in Pennsylvania) no change in symptoms or pain level. i had a tarsal tunnel compression release surgery done Nov 13th, 2019. All i have now is added pain and stiffness and no change in level of functioning or pain. i see the doctor to tomorrow for follow up and next steps. Any suggestions for what to ask in terms of recovery, long term effectiveness, and when and if i should expect any change in pain level...thanks

Sounds awful! You have been through so much

My surgery was in July 2019 still have numbness now and then left side of my foot and toes but no pain thank goodness

Most of my pain was limited to when I began FWB but with PT that was soon alleviated

I have no answers for you but I just wanted to let wish you the best and know we ate here for you

Thank you! i really appreciate the kind words and good thoughts

i saw the dr today and as we thought, there is not much improvement that he can see, but cautioned me that nerves heal slowly and that it may take some time

i will be back in PT for a while and see the doc again in 6 weeks fingers crossed there is some improvement

on a good note, Im out of the surgical show and am allowed to drive again..Yay!
