Tea tree oil for outbreaks

I contracted genital herpes about 6 years ago but up until about 6 months ago never had experienced any outbreaks. After the first one I then soon had a 2nd and a 3rd. I now seem to experience an outbreak, treat it using aciclovir, recover then within a week start a new outbreak. During my last outbreak I was so low and desperate I started to surf the web for alternative treatments and one that stood out was using tea tree oil. I've always been a great lover of this oil, mainly because my mam swore by it and always have a bottle stored in the bathroom cabinet. Anyway about 2 days into my last outbreak I used a couple of drops on my infected area. Mainly the top end of my foreskin. It immediately relieved the usual discomfort that herpes outbreaks bring and within a few hours my sores had dried up. Which generally means in my case that I'm on the mend. The only down side was that for about a day my foreskin was very red and sore, almost like it was burnt. I countered this by using tea tree oil antiseptic cream which instantly relieved this discomfort. Within 2 days of using the oil and cream I was now what I believe to be recovered from the outbreak. (4 days from the initial outbreak) usually my symptoms last between 7 - 10 days. I really just want to know if anyone else has used this method and any experiences that it has brought. I'm really keen now to see if I have another outbreak in the next week or so and if not when the next one will be. Any thoughts or shared stories would be welcome.

To be fair I've seen people mentioning coconut oil so I may try it. But since posting I have continued experimenting and found that tea tree oil in the bath accompanied by tea tree oil antiseptic cream seems to work wonders for me. I have also started taking l-lystine tablets and with this combo I am currently free from outbreaks for almost a month which may not seem long but is a minor win so far compared to where I was over Christmas.

Why can't you use teatree oil? I had a similar experience when i got it in 2015... well that's when outbreaks began. I got them (outbreaks) once to twice monthly. This is what worked for me:
Eating healthier and drinking plenty of spring water, applying my unrefined coconut oil mixed with tea tree and lavander to my vaginal site about three times a week and praying. I must admit that i just had an outbreak Friday (2 days ago) on the bottom left labia. I've been putting teatree oil only directly on the site. On Saturday morning it was swollen and huge!!! Looked worse, but today ALL the swelling is down and it doesn't look like blister... just a bump. I'm so happy. So i'm apparently skipping the ulcer phase which is the worst phase. Besides this outbreak I've been outbreak free for 5 months. Just wanted to make you and everyone else aware. I also plan on updating as much as i can because i really want to help

I'm curious. What did the one sore look like when you had just one? Was it small or big? Was it like a big blister? I have it and I currently have one sore, but I've never seen it look like this before. I've only had 2 outbreaks over the years and they were small little pus bumps.

Tea tree oil is amazing for genital herpes outbreaks, especially as a woman. Some people are more prone to outbreaks than others, I get them from time to time and they always get clear and heal much faster with tea tree oil. For those who are burning your skin, you're not applying it properly. Use only 1-2 drops (depending on how big infected area is) 2-3 times a day. Or dilute the oil with water if you are still see burns on your skin. If you just feel a burning sensation when putting it on that's normal, similar to puting peroxide on a wound that burning sensation is the tea tree oil fighting the infection. I've used it for years and know it works affectively. You can also use it to heal cuts as well. Amazing topical for HSV!

tea tree oil worked really good. I just had my third outbreak in two months. I was still trying to learn how to understand my body at that time. those first two outbreaks lasted for about a ten to fourteen days because I was not treating it. When I started to feel itchy again the third I knew it was coming, I had opened sores for like two day, really painful, on the third day I bought tea tree oil and I applied it 3 to 4 time a day for the next two days and the sores and the discomfort went away. this outbreak lasted 4 days total, I wish someone would have told me earlier.
