Tea Tree Oil - For Those Whoo Are Using It...

Posted , 5 users are following.

The best treatment I've found so far is Tea Tree Oil and no tears baby shampoo. however, through trial and error I have found that

more than a drop of the oil is too strong, so some may believe it doesn't work, because they are using it too strong. Hope this helps. smile Dena

    Hi,

Yes, also through trial and error I've found that about 60 ml warm water with a squirt of no tear baby shampoo and 1-2 drops works for me.  I swirl the mixture around to mix and with a face cloth, different one for each eye, dip it in and clean. First the eye lid above, then the lash line and along the lash line of the lower lid. This can be done quite quickly and gently.  I discovered in the beginning when I rubbed to much or too vigorously and used a stronger solution it irritated the eye.

I read by someone on this site and she uses saffron threads in her morning cereal, just six little threads.  A lady who has used this successfuly told her and she has had success too.  It does take some weeks she says to kick in.

I've been using this as well and although it appears expensive for the small amount it is actually quite cheap as you only use such a small quantity.

I have found the answer is to get it under control with cortizone drops under supervision of an Opthalmologist who keeps a check on the eye pressure and then it is easier to maintain. Initially as soon as I stopped the drops It gave back severly within 2 days. What seems to have worked it a months course of Maxitrol drops 4 times a day and Maxitrol ointment at night. Then drops twice a day with ointment at night for 2 weeks,  then  once a day with drops at night for 2 weeks. and a month with just ointment at night.  I found the reducing dosage is what finally worked.  During this time using the cleaning method morning and night. It seems now that I can continue with just the cleaning method.

I did a bit of research on the Saffron and found that there are tablets for age related macula degeneration so I'm keeping on with the saffron too.

    And I pray!!!!

Hope this helps someone out there.

    Elaine.
