I have the type that leaves the crust at the edge of the lids and
when I try to clean the bits fall down in my eyes and I feel like
I have sand in my eyes all day.....Anyhow.....just had both eyes
done to remove cataracts. First in March last mid April. One
of the eye docs told me to use Systane Balance eye drops on the eye
not being worked on. Heaven.....no feeling of sand in my eyes
anymore. It's more of a gel than the other 20 kinds I've tried over
the years. It's a little more pricey but believe me I'd pay a lot more
for the feeling of relief it gives me...Drops are in the purple box.
I sure hope it keeps working for me since I can stand my eyes
during the day now. If you have the Bleph that causes the grit
please give this product a try. Doesn't cure anything but makes
life a lot better.

would you be worried to try them They were recommended
by eye doc. I'd rather take his word than someone on a
bloggin site that I don't know. I've always been leery of
using Wet Ones near my eyes and tea tree oil too. Unless
it is in a product that is made for eyes I wouldn't use.

must have tried just about everything on the market over the
years. My brother-in-law is an opthamoligist and he told me
to get Zaditor for itching. It's more of an allergy treatment.
I live in FL and something is always blooming and blowing.
I guess with excess oil the main thing would be extra
cleaning. I did the warm soaks and finished with Occusoft
wipes. Even that was no solution until doc told me to
buy Systane Balance.....wish it worked for you.

The worst thing I ever did was use the chlorophenol ointment - it damaged my eyes & dissolved my lashes over time. Trusted the doctor so just kept using it.
Things are SO much better for me since I
a). Started taking sea buckthorn oil - find it much better than flax & it's apparently the omega 7 that works so well
b) Used a non-perfumed face wash followed by wiping round eyes with a cotton bud soaked in either eye wash or bicarb solution, depending on what's to hand.
c). I try to drink more - not alcohol, ha, ha.
d) I try not to stare at screens for prolonged periods & remind myself to blink fully
Hope this helps you.
