Teacher considering the op

Posted , 2 users are following.

Diagnosed at 19 I am considering surgery at 39. I am a teacher by profession and I am considering the recovery process and my entitlements. Is there anyone else that has had a similar experience whilst in a teaching career? I would be glad to hear your stories. Many thanks in advance.

    Hi,

I'm a teacher also. I had my upper vertebrae fused and rods placed in childhood. All went well for many years until I developed a compensatory curve in my tailbone that was causing me to have difficulty walking, along with constant pain. I was told by a spine doc that my only options were more surgery or a narcotic pump. Instead, I started practicing Bikram Yoga, and 5 years later I am completely pain-free. I highly recommend it!
