Tearful Day today

Hi Everyone,

Dropped a couple of days ago from 25mg to 20 mg, not feeling so good these past few days, so thinking maybe Ive dropped too soon.

More leg weakness , more aches,& shaky, so think I should go back to 25mg again for maybe longer than the 2 weeks my doc wanted.

Very tearful & feeling so down.

A bit fed up to put it mildly.Sorry to be a pain, just need a big hug I guess.

Amycakes.

In all the 10 years of checking ESR purely for the PMR, it has hovered between 2 and 4. The only time it caused some concern was when I had a severe chest infection and it reached the dizzy heights of 26!

It must make life so much easier when you can rely on it as a guide, but I always was one of the awkward squad!

    Hi Fiftiesgirl.

Not sure what dose you're on so this may be encouraging or depressing :D sad When I reached around the 7/8mgs my face returned to normal (complete with wrinkles previously 'puffed out' by the moon face (!) and the fluff vanished off my face. I lost weight when I started on 15mgs and started to put it on around 7/8mgs so seem to have done that the wrong way round (another member of the awkward squad :nahnah: ). Sometimes its difficult to remember the pain and just focus on the change in looks. I only need to look at the bathroom radiator to remind me how I almost wrenched it clean off the wall trying to lever myself off of the loo when everything hurt, my whole body was stiff and nothing seemed to go where or how I wanted it too!!!

11 stone - if only!!!!! And I'm barely 5 foot nothing. I believe I once saw 8 stone - no, must have been twice: once on the way up and once after being ill for about 3 months and losing a stone and a half  My husband didn't notice

But I do think the swim rings around the middle are beginning to disperse in some way - hope springs eternal...

I can finally feel and see my ribs again having lost 8 or 9 lbs but it isn't easy. Although I'm now just within my so-called normal BMI (if that really means anything - what about those Rugby players?!) I would like to lose about another half a stone to reach about 9st 10lbs and then I will be happy BUT if being without the pain that is PMR means a bit of weight gain then, like fiftiesgirl, I know which I'd prefer.
