Tearing my (very thin) hair out!

Hi, I haven't posted for a while, so I'm probably repeating someone else's story, (sorry). Has anyone else had difficulty contacting the Spec. nurses at the Hospitals? I have been constantly on the phone and it's forever engaged! I t moves to an answer- service at 4pm and that's the same. I realise they are extremely busy but what do we do in an emergency having been told by some Hospitals not to go to a&e? Fortunately mine isn't but it's scary. There is no sign of an appointment, (I had a phone appt. in July) I am on 1mg. of Pred. and inject tociliz. I come off the Pred. at the end of this month. I don't want to come across as a moaner but I also care for my husband who has dementia, and try to stay well to look after him. I amm quite satis fied with all that has been done for me and I'm very grateful to the n.h.s. Thanks for listening.

I can't really help - I don't live in the UK and our hospital is working. My husband was at A&E on Monday - and if anyone shouldn't be there it is him!! The authorities in the UK are insisting that services are as normal but I know plenty who can't get through to a GP, never mind speak to one. You could try making a complaint

And in an emergency - as per usual: 999
But why do you need the specialist nurses? Maybe someone here can help?

Thanks for replying Eileen, I finally got through to a help-line today, I apologise for not asking for advice on here, I didn't mean to insult anyone, you all have been invaluable for me through this long struggle. A Dr. rang me back and I am having blood tests next week. Hearing an engaged signal on a phone for days on end from roughly 10am till my last call at 12.35am at night has I think addled my brain! I have no complaints I am sure they are all extremely busy. Thank you.
