How do you calculate FEV1% from a FEV1 result with age, sex and height know? Do you need to know the FVC value as well?

Thanks

Thanks Benny. It looks like I need the FVC value as well - is this definately true or can I use a predicted value for this? Do you know anything about the FEV1% predicted value and how to calculate this?

    Thanks

No I know nothing but I think all the information you need is on the page I mentioned (though I could be wrong,, Google is your friend), but from the 'Measurements made in Spirometry' section of the page ((FEV1 / FVC) x 100) = FEV1%

Sorry if I'm not helping redface

    Thanks Benny, you are helping.

I'm getting confused as FEV1 can be presented as a % out of a predicted value. But I think this is not FEV1% or FEV1% predicted (although the names are similar). There seems to be a lot of similar terminology for similar types of measurements so this is how I'm getting confused!! (Or it could just be an age thing!)

    Thanks again.
