Ted stockings

Was just wondering what the ladies wore with teds stockings. Won't be going anywhere for a while but would like to look nice over Christmas. I've only worn joggers gym trainers up till now, as advised by Physio, due to better grip and as I'm not weight bearing on the op leg they are not too heavy on the leg I lift up. I have only been wearing one but would like something to wear on both feet if I do venture out, as its cold!

I'm a little bit fashion conscious, and probably over reacting!

Trackee bottoms for the first three weeks, then a size larger leggings on my feet was the slipper sox they gave me in hospital, or my own slipper sox the ones with the rubber bits on.  I had to wait until my feet went down, had little ankle boots that i wore without doing zips up. Just dont wear anything tight

i wore a tight pair of undies and it really hurt

People are decorating their crutches and cane for Christmas, so why not the stockings? A few sequins or a bit of fabric paint could go a long way. Have also posted a link to a page which discusses fashion TEDs but it's awaiting moderation...

I wore smart trousers when I went to a meeting, for shopping etc I wore jeans and around the house I stuck to joggers. I'm not a skirt/dress kinda girl but you could try opaque tights, they should cover them? With my trousers I wore little Chelsea boots and I had my dr martens on with my jeans. Both very comfy but a little bit more dressed than trainers.

I had the works Xmas party last week (I was 10 weeks post op) and I wore heels 😂

    It soon passes 👍🏼

Long dress or maxi skirt with ballet pumps or even kitten heels for Christmas Day. My physio said a small heel is good - which I was surprised to hear!

I have been wearing leggings a size or two bigger for comfort with oversized jumpers and ankle boots day to day. Can't bear the thought of anything tight or jeans even now. I tried a skirt on which worked okay, but again needs to be on the big or loose size. You wear a shorter dress with black tights.

I don't know how old you are but over knee boots would hide Teds immediately and just put on a sophisticated dress for post hip style! Some are very stylish this year and not at all Julia Roberts!

See you can tell I have been putting a lot if thought into this very subject smile

      Thankyou Rose

I usually live in jeans but have ordered some leggings in a bigger size. I have some long boots which I could wear too, I'm 45 by the way.

Thanks for the ideas, I hadn't realized the whole hip/thigh area would be so swollen!

I cheated and invested in a pair of black flight socks as they are designed to prevent DVT, made wearing them under skirts a lot more bearable 😊 I lived in my ugg boots or if I was out on the town little ankle boots.

Thanks, might order some black stockings! Also think my Uggs will be coming back out the wardrobe.
