Are you in the us or UK? If your in the us then it's a little easier to find a therapist that specializes in these things. How old is the child and has she or he been victimized before. Some children display behaviors that they have seen or gone through from past trauma. From what I'm told.

I'm not a doctor or therapist but from being a foster parent in the past. Kids tend to mimic what they've been through or seen. Maybe subconsciously he or she is not aware they are doing it for attention. Did they give any diagnosis? I know you cant give me a specific age but is she or he a teenager or younger? I understand some teenagers hurt themselves for attention when it comes to cutting especially where people can see.

This is important. Don't be offended.
Does she know you love her? Does anyone show her any affection? (if you are family/friend etc)

Then maybe just ck out a church from where you live. Just look around for one or check out the phone book or something and see where once at that you can go check out. I don't know what I would do if I didn't have that. But I will be praying for you.
