Telehealth

My dad was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes 5 years ago and had an effective management system, but had a minor stroke a few months ago and the system is less effective. I have been reading a lot about telehealth in the press and that the trail has been with diabetes, does the system work? anybody got any experience.

I have a heart complaint that was recently discovered and live alone, but would like to continue to live at home. I've heard a little about how telehealth can help, but haven't yet tried it and would like to know more before signing myself up to it.

I'm trying to find out more about this too. I've been on to Tunstall and just read the link above. All sound great but, like you AJ, would like to know of anyone who's actually used this system. Can anyone help?

    Thanks

I've heard good things about telehealthcare and have been looking into it for helping my parents as they get older.

Whilst doing some research, however, I've found an interesting - albeit slightly alarming - story about a man in Liverpool who was using telehealthcare. It's a bit worrying as he was sent two phone bills, thought one was a duplicate, so ended up not paying one of his bills. As a result, his phone operator cut off his phone line, which meant that his health monitoring at home was also cut off. I'm wondering if this is a problem or a worry for other telehealthcare users?

Since my last post I've found out some good sites for telehealth and have even purchased some of the recommended equipment such as the alarm necklace. It's a great relief to know that I am no longer alone if I have another heart attack, which was my main worry about living alone. Thank you to everyone for your comments and suggestions.
