    Hello Mrs Susan,

Yes, migraines can cause all of the symptoms you describe, but any triptan you take can make you sleepy too.  My personal preference is Sumatriptan.  You also need some preventative medicine too.  I take Pregabalin, Verapmil and Nortriptyline.  I get cluster headache and Hemilpegic Migraine, which is no fun as it hospitalises me from time to time.

If this continues for you, talk to your dr about seeing a Neurologist, getting an MRI scan and of course preventative meds too.

Good luck Mrs Susan and hope you feel better soon.

Take care and let us know how you get on.

      Hi Personal-

What dose of nortriptyline do you take?  I’m on it now and just started a couple of months ago.

At the moment I am taking just 10mg at night, but will be increasing by 10mg every 2 weeks, up to 50mg, but I hope I dont have to go that high

I’m taking 25mg per night.  Started at 10.  Unfortunately I have a sinus infection right now and am on antibiotics so it’s hard to tell how it’s working and what exactly my side effects are.  How are you feeling on it?

      Hi Heather

It's working ok for me and I hope I dont have to increase the dosage too much.  I was on it before and I had to be on 100mg but in that case I was getting bad tremors, dizziness and speach problems.  So as soon as it gives me the desired effect I wont put it up anymore

Temple pains, fatigue, tingling. All part of it. My worst migraines start with an unexplained dopeyness. Can’t stay awake even though I’ve had rest. They are scary. My speech slurs, right side tingles, flashing lights then pain.

Everyone is different so what works for some doesn’t others. Imitrex nasal spray worked the best on me till I couldn’t take it anymore
