Tendon sheath pain at 2 mg of Prednisolone

I am now at 2 mg of Pred daily. I have elbow pain which the Gp suggests is tendon sheath pain. I have also now experiencing pain behind my left knee which goes into my left calf and achilles area. Would this also be a tendon problem as as before?

Grateful for any thought.

It is hard to say if it is the same tendon inflammation and if it is at all related to PMR. When I had similar issue, PT applied the massage to tendon and it helped. With PMR blood supply is reduced to muscles, but it is also restricted to all connective tissues, and it can cause inflammations (from overuse) and even injuries. Good PT (if you can get access to any now bcos of pandemic) would be your best bet.

Thanks for replying. I had a chat with my rheumatology dept on Friday last week as was also experiencing a further increase in PMR symptoms. As a result, my dose has increased slightly and am feeling better. My elbows and knees are feeling less painful. Keep well. Best wishes.

Sorry for being so long about replying - no prods per email means things slide!

I would have said too that this is typical of a flare due to having overshot the dose you need - pleased to hear you have been allowed to go to a higher dose.
