Tendonitis?

Week 7 and I've had pain in my groin just to the left of my pubic area on my left leg. Ive read other posts on social media which suggest tendonitis of the psoasis tendon . I can't do bed exercises I can do standing ones but it's getting to me as I'm sure it's prohibiting my recovery. I'm still on crutches as physio told me to use them.i had practised without and managed a few steps.but I foretold off by physio! I had my 6 week check last weel amdvthey were really chuffed with my progress considering cerebral palsy in my right leg. More physio Tues but I can't do it, it hurts too much! maybe ill get some massage techniques instead. Anyone help please ?

Dear Angela me like you also had groin pain in same area, it's horribly painful isn't it? I was booked in for a steroid injection which apparently eases the inflammation. However at week 10 (where I'm at now) the pain eased by about 40% so I cancelled. So, I think give it a couple of weeks Angela and I,m sure it.ll ease. Abit. I am 57 yrs old so not too old and have been told to still use crutches until my hip muscles strengthen, have been told with weak muscles it can affect the groin. It does get you down doesn't it you just want to get back to normal, but keep your chin up, I guess it's only a small time in our lives! My biggest problem is lower back pain which is getting me down! If nothing else this is a good site to have a moan

Totally understand that you want to move on and get rid of walking aids ..
Good thing is that your surgeon was very pleased with your progress, especially when you have an additional challenge like CP in other leg ---
Internet is a blessing and a curse at the same time -
I had trochanteric bursitis which was diagnosed by my surgeon at check up visit - did you mention it to your surgeon? if you have tendonitis, some exercises might aggrevate the muscle -
I am not a big believer in : no pain no gain after hip replacement surgery ... I feel that my body is telling me to stop or ease up -
Talk to you physical therapist about how painful and uncomfortable the exercises make you feel ----
please be kind and gentle with your self - you have been through a lot and are on the road of recovery ... it takes time, darling ...
big warm hug

Hi Renee
It's lovely to speak with you again. Thank you for your comments.
I did mention it at check up and she told me to put pillows under my knees and to lift from the knee rather than my hip but I still feel it so I'm not doing it!
What's the point in hurting yourself eh? It doesn't hurt to walk with my crutches so I'll just do that instead, at least I'm doing something. Thank you again I hope your well 😀

Hi, I had tendonitis in my non op leg groin area before and after op due to overcompensating. Massage and ultrasound may help but it's rest really that will make the difference. It took 10 weeks post op to be able to lift the non op leg more than 3 inches off the floor ! 👣

Hi there, I posted about my groin pain which started 6 weeks after my operation. It was horrible. I couldn't straighten my leg out and ended up sleeping in a chair for weeks. I had Ann X-ray, an MRI which found some inflammation. I was investigated for labral tears as well. The physio suggested I go on a muscle relaxant drug called Baclofen as I have MS and my muscles were tensing with the pain and making it worse. I've now had the pain for 3 months and am due a steroid injection into the iliopsoas tendon tomorrow. But here's the good news! Over time it has eased so much that now I don't know if I should cancel the injection. It's been a long haul but it could heal without anything too drastic. I was very worried and depressed about it too. This is a great site for reassurance. Good luck.

Thank you for the information,I would be inclined to out off the injection if it is continuing to get better. But that's me -i gate injections! My pain appears to gave gone now that I've rested it in even able to lift it into bed without too much problem which was impossible last week. It's good to know you can ask anything without judgement on this site. Good luck whatever you decide.
