Does anyone else have tendonitis? I had a flare up of tendonitis back in January and now it's back. It is in my right leg only and seems to start when I get hot all over. Does anyone else suffer like this, very painful for 10 minutes and then goes. never had this before but doctor say its tendonitis that sometimes comes with menopause. Anyone else?

My OH has been having real problems with back/hip pain just recently. He had to see 'the foot lady' (he's diabetic) this morning and managed to see a doctor (someone had cancelled minutes before!). He has been told it is sciatica and has been given a co-codamol mix with a higher than usual amount of codine. The pain subsided within minutes and he has just woken up after falling asleep on the sofa. What of it, I hear you ask - it is the first time he has been pain-free in over a week and able to sleep!
I know there are warnings about codine addiction, but if the pain relief is THAT good, it might be worth the risk!! Just a thought.

Hi bobbysgirl. regarding cocodomol (the codeine aspect), i am having to take quite long term in high doses at present for other illness unrelated to peri, but when you are able not to take it, my doc advised don't just stop it cold turkey style, just reduce the dose gradually to nothing over a couple of weeks & you won't have problems. i have to take at least 2 60mg/500mg cocodomol daily at present, just to take the edge of my pain & slow my bowels down, so was a bit worried about having to rely on this so heavily. but like you i am unable to take any anti inflammatory meds like ibuprofen due to bowel conditions i have- it makes it much worse. so cocodomol is my only option, but it does help in 2 ways for me. it can make you a bit woozy, so be aware of how feel before you need to drive too. xx

Yes, it can tend to 'bung-you-up, but that and the drowsiness are worth it in exchange for a pain-free day and a reasonable night's sleep. The mix I take is an over the counter migraine tablet - paracetamol, codine and buclizine, which settles the stomach and means you can take it on an empty stomach if you have to.
