Hi redona, sorry to hear your experiencing this. Have you had a follow up to talk to your gp? Perhaps they can prescribe you a mild sedative that will help with the sleep. It's really amazing how messed up your body and mind become from sleep deprivation.

Maybe Valium could be a solution? It helps me with my anxiety when I can't leave the house or start to have panic attacks, also helps with sleep.

Talk to your dr about your options because there definitely are many available, you don't need to suffer this way.

Valium is highly addictive! Don't even think about using it.

I had and still get these darn headaches. It's because your body is stressed to stressed and loses key vitamins and minerals when we are to stressed. Remember that there are quick remedies like aspirin out there that help. We like to exaggerate things when there is a simple solution. I take an advil every morning and to prevent those headaches. But your GP can also prescribe anti inflammatory drugs for the headaches. Good luck. We are all battling something. Anxiety is not fun. It sucks.

Hiya Redona. I only started getting tension headaches after my anxiety started in full-force. I think it has to do with being very tense for long periods of time. But it becomes a cycle: Anxiety leads to the tension headaches, which leads to more anxiety, which leads to more headaches. Have you tried taking medicine for the pain? I hate pills, but sometimes an Aleve or Advil is super helpful.

Oh I so wish I had answers for you because then I would have answers for me just days I wake up and I am nervous for no reason all day I wake up with morning anxiety have no idea where it came from and stay like that all day and yes the racing thoughts drive you nuts because you don't understand how to slow them down I sympathize

Like one other said anything in the benzo family is highly addictive stay away in my opinion it's just a bandaid . ask about lamottragene or hydroxine as a alternative possibly. The racing thoughts are a tough one the best thing is find a hobby like coloring or reading mab movies or shows. Anxiety has triggers most of the time like things that made it worse things that remind you of the surgery there is something from your past more then likely that's a big reason. When you have anxiety you go into to fight or flight so adrenaline is going through you feel like there is something after you but know there's not a sense of dread. And anxiety does make you think illogical even when you know the logical way you shud be handling it. Your tension headache could be stress combined with clenching your jaw you prob don't realize your doing it.

I have had severe anxiety for about 8 years now. Remember the day it started like yesterday. I also suffer from tension headaches on a daily basis. Also have a very sore scalp. I have tried everything under the sun to combat going on medication and spent hours on the internet searching and learning as much as I can. After the birth of my son. I was prescribed vicodin. Took my headaches away and brought me out the depths of my anxiety and depression. Never abused them. I used them to be able to function and take care of my family. 3 1/2 years my anxiety was just a thought in the back of my mind. Thought I had it beat. I decided to go off the vicodin. 2 weeks tomorrow clean. My anxiety and depression are back right along with the worse tension headaches ever. I take hot showers and ibuprophen. Hope all goes well.

Hi, Redona! I have a question. You say, "Why am i anxious when i know i shouldnt be.." Why shouldn't you be anxious? Whether or not your anxious would depend on what you were telling yourself at that moment in time. I'd be happy to explain what I mean if you want. I hope you feel better! biggrin

You might have developed tmj. Go see a dentist or a maxillary surgeon..they make soft mouth splints.

Try taking acetaminophen instead of NSAIDs as they can cause stomach issues instead. And you don't need extra problems. Also eat no matter if you don't have an appetite try eating healthy as your brain needs this to stay productive. As far as sleep goes reduce that stress what ever is causing it. Meditate and relax read a book or listen and dance to your favorite songs endorphin can reduce that stress hormones.

    Hope you feel better soon.
