ive been experiencing chronic tension headaches since beginning of april ive been to gp so many times and ive asked for a headache specialist referral but my appointment is 3rd dec. ive been put on amitripyline 10mg increased to 20mg everynight , ive been to chiropractor and hes realigned my neck but it hasnt fixed my head . i feel really spacy all the time i still get headaches although it does seem to less intense. it feels like the pain is neck head and right arm i dont know what else to try . i hate feeling like this im a hairdresser and when i feel spacy i have to focus so much when im at work.

im seeing a specialist who does nis treatment in the hope he may be able to help but im not sure what else to do as it all costs a fortune.

has anyone else been on amitripyline ? can i just stop the tabs or so i have to ween myself? i dont want to be on it for long

I am so sorry that your dealing with all of this pain and frustration! It is a miserable experience, I know. Have you tried prescription Vanatol for your headache pain? It is a fast acting liquid with; caffeine, acetaminophen, and butalbital that provides rapid pain relief. It does have a bit of alcohol in it that works as an anxiety reducer as well as helps the medication absorb quickly. I am a RN Pharmaceutical Rep. and work directly with the manufacturer. They offer a lifetime coupon which eliminates MOST or ALL of your prescription co-pay. My co-pay was $7 for a month supply and it got rid of my epidural headache. If you're interested in trying Vanatol please respond to me with your Physicians information and I will email you a pre-printed prescription for your MD to sign and fax. My pharmacy delivers your medication for free! All my best to you!
