Terbinafine Taste distortions

Since taking this, I cannot taste anything properly and there seems to be a bitter-sweet taste in my mouth all the time. My toe nails have begun to heal and become fungus free but I don't feel that the loss of taste has been a price worth paying. I keep eating things that I would not normally eat e.g. Mars bars etc., all in a vain attempt to experience taste again. I am extremely worried that my sense of taste may not return and am waiting for my doctor to ring me back about this.. sad

    Hi Linda,

I feel your pain really, its awful, I have another post on here, maybe you could see that, its my full diary of how I was after this awful drug....It is miserable, I was on tablets for about 5 weeks and took 7 weeks to fully have my tast return. How much we take it for granted is unreal and unless like you and I experience this its awful....Mine is now back to normal, I would expect you wil start get spice/curry back first, salt and vinegar followed by bitter with sweet being the very last....Suppose it kept me off chocolate longer. I just kept taking a square of galaxy if nothing spitting it out...Water may taste salty, this will soon go and taste normal at about 3 weeks. I fear it may take 11 weeks to get it out of your system but your taste buds renew themselves every 10 days or so, hopefully you dont have to suffer the full 2 months, hope this helps, let me know how you get on. sad
