hi so im a 22 year old mum of 2 small children. just looking for advice or any similar situations as im mentally and physically drained im at breaking point even writing this post terrifies me, i just want someone to hear me out. So for about 4 month now when im lay in bed ive experienced the odd random twitches- didnt think anything of it. About 2 weeks ago i was in hospital due to abdominal pains, this subsided however when i got home i had a heavy feeling in both legs. i stupidly googled it and saw something about MND, and one of the symptoms being twitching stuck in my head as ive experienced the odd ones in bed for months. now for the past week however, my whole body from head to toe ive been experiencing these twitches mostly in my legs and arms but pretty much everywhere, they go on from morning till night, my arms and legs are twitching as i type. ive also for the past few nights been experiecing calf cramps and a general weak/heavy feeling in my arm. i also have a feeling of a lump/phlegm in my throat but not sure if this is related as ive recently had a cold. my doctor gave me anxiety tablets however i feel as though he dismissed me too quickly without hearing my concern. im so sorry for the rant just currently at my wits end this fear is having a serious impact on my home life and mental health i spent most nights in tears worrying about this

muscle twitching is very common with stress and anxiety. It’s called benign fasciculation’s and they are harmless. I have had them on and off for over 30 years. I basically ignore them if I feel them which is rare now.
heaviness in the arms or legs or general fatigue can also be related to anxiety. And stress. I had about 10 symptoms, and all at once when I was in my late 20s and I thought I had some terrible disease. But that wasn’t the case it was all due to long-term stress and anxiety.
now, of course there are other things that can cause those symptoms such as calcium imbalance or potassium. Both are easy to fix. But you would have to have blood work drawn to check all those type of things.
I would say for your peace of mind just insist on having some lab work done at least. That way when it comes out normal you will feel better.
But one thing I really urge you to stop doing is to Google your symptoms. It will not pertain to your individual situation and it will scare you for no reason.
That’s because you can take just about any symptoms and it will go along with just about any condition . Google very rarely lists the most common non-serious reasons for symptoms. They always list the worst, which is not the norm.
is there anything in your life that could be causing you stress? speaking with a counselor can be very helpful. You’re going to be OK and I hope you feel better soon.
