Terrible anxiety, really struggling - help please!

Hello so I’m really struggling with anxiety. I have this constant feeling like I have a lump in my throat, like I’m about to cry (you know that pain when you are trying not to cry) and my muscles twitch and shake, my hands are constantly like I have low blood sugar. When I try relax my body it twitches and I can never sit still. It’s not so much social anxiety, it’s more health anxiety. I have visual disturbances (lights, flahses, staticky vision etc etc) I’m sensitive to light too. So generally I’m feeling unwell mentally and physically! The physical stuff is debilitating, I can’t walk down the stairs without my legs shaking (like if you run a marathon and at the end your tired and your legs shake) PLEASE HELP😭😭😭😭

Hi Charlotte, I replied to one of your other posts when I saw this one. I know exactly how you feel. Lots of people don't understand that anxiety comes with physical issues too. I have a constant lump in my throat too and also feel like I'm about to cry (it hurts!), and sometimes I can't eat because of it. I also have super shaky hands, it's kind of hard for me to type this right now. I get shaky legs too, sometimes I feel like I'm going to fall down the stairs. I don't know if you're in school, but I'm a high school student, and the combination of my physical and mental symptoms can make it so hard for me to care or focus on work. I also have a constant sinking feeling in my stomach and chest pains. When I talk to people about my struggles I always end up feeling a little better, do you have a close and supportive friend you could talk to? There's also a breathing technique where you breathe in for 4 seconds, hold your breath for 7 seconds, and exhale for 8 seconds, and it helps me feel less shaky. I hope this helps!

All classic anxiety symptoms. The shaky muscles, feeling like you ran a marathon when you have only been lying around. Do you exercise by any chance? I just started walking on my treadmill for 20-25 minutes every evening. Helps the shaky muscles and gives my body a reason to feel tired.

When I start to feel this way and I'm at home I literally try to shake it off. I will throw in some squats, maybe a few spins and kicks. It might look silly but it helps. It's almost like my body is filled with kinetic energy and I need to release it. I'm not one for formal exercise, feels too much like a chore so I do this or turn on some music and dance it out. Hope you find something that makes you feel better.
