GERD is so bad today pain in centre of back and under my breast bone and also my shoulder and arm. Been up most of the night I'm shattered. Gaviscon and Rennie hasn't helped much, I don't want to eat anything today so have just had warm water. Even tried a little bicarbonate of soda mixed with water.

I take Nexium doesn't help much, I'm seeing the specialist tomorrow so I'll ask about maybe changing to Ranitidine, see if that's better.

I take ranitidine 300mg morning and omeprazole 20mg last thing at night, if I'm very careful with what I eat they help, but the burning is never too far away, sometimes it feels like being choked, hope you will let us know what specialist says tomorrow

Sorry I meant Vitamin D or Calcium Citrate in my previous post. Vitamin D is responsible for absorption of Calcium, so only taking Vitamin D supplement and having calcium rich foods should suffice. Also I stand 15 minutes a day facing the sun, exposing as much skin as possible, a natural way to improve your vitamin d level.

After just two months of taking PPIs, my vitamin D and vitamin b12 Levels became really low. Doc prescribed Meconerve forte daily for 10 days and microd3 supplement weekly. My symptoms have improved and not experienced any side effects yet.

Try adding more probiotics in your diet. It helped me. I used to take nexium but it didn't do anything.

Have any of you TOO LITTLE STOMACH ACID? Instead of too much? The PPIs are killers to those of us who do have too little. Dr. put me on PPIs without even testing my ph-levels first. Would love to hear from anyone out there with not enough. I suffer with all of these miserable symptoms 24 hrs a day and they have taken over my life basically.

I'm off of the PPIs now and am trying Betaine Hcl (hydrocloric acid supplements) but am wondering how long it is supposed to take until they kick in? Any comments would be appreciated
