Terrible pain below sternum

Posted , 5 users are following.

I’ve been told I have costo.  I have excruciating pain below my sternum!  Feels like I’m being stabbed.  I’ve had a lot of GI tests...upper endoscopy, CT and MRI of my abdomen and an endoscopic ultrasound that found nothing!   Does anyone else get Costo pain in the area I described?

I know exactly what you are saying. I went through this for years . . . pain, doctors, tests, medicines. I finally decided to change doctors three months ago. My first visit at the new doctor's they asked if I would like to try physical therapy. I said ok. The next day I was in PT,  and the day after that I woke up pain free. I went to PT for a total of five visits, and I practice the exercises at home 2-3 times a week. It is unbelievable!

That's great news - I'm very pleased to hear that the PT helped. Could you give more detail about your exercises please? Are you in the UK and was your PT available on the NHS?

I've had Costo for 15 months and have been doing my own stretching moves, which do seem to have helped, but haven't got rid of it. Maybe some different exercises would help me? Any other advice would be most welcome too.

Hoping you have finally got rid of the Costo beast!
