terrible wind

i suffer from IBS and have had a pretty good run with it the past 8 months. I dont get terrible diarreah nowadays. I have to be careful what i eat though, i wouldnt say i was allergic to wheat and gluten but im definetely intolerant.
I can eat small amounts of food with wheat in it, but i cannot drink milk.
I switched to soya and it bloated me too much .
So i tried almond milk and ive been fine.
I decided I wanted to try oat milk. BAD MOVE
I really thought that would be ok, but i started it three days ago and couldnt work out until i realised it could be the oat milk why i was having such bad wind. Its painful too, but im constantly passing wind, thinking i may have an accident. When i go to the loo it isnt diarraeah but it feels like it will be.
Im literally taking each step with a fart ( sorry tmi) its constant.
I cant think of anything ive eaten different or havent eaten before. so im thinking it HAS to be the oat milk.
Has anyone else had any problems with oat milk?
thanks in advance.

Mine started with dreadful wind, when I eventually went to the Dr they simply said it was due to stress since losing my husband earlier that year. My cousinn told me to eliminate bread and potatoes which did help. I hardly ever eat potaotes but can occasionally manage a slice or two of sour dough bread. I haven't tried oat milk BUT I can no longer eat porridge (which I used to enjoy,) It makes me really ill.

I can relate to you all.. I used to love porridge and now I can't eat it.. I ate some supernoodles yesterday and have been regretting it all day! I feel like I'm going through quite a bad attack for the last few weeks, feeling bloated and under my ribs on the right feels swollen.. it's rotten isn't it! I wish you all better!

Sometimes our body just reacts weirdly for no reason-its part of the strangeness that is ibs.
I ate porridge for years no problem, then about 2 yes ago out of nowhere every time I ate porridge I had diarrhoea several hours later. It took ages for me to work it out. Also I tried a different make of bread for a while and that gave me diarrhoea too, even though the ingredients list was the same as the other brand. Although I can't eat porridge I can eat oatcakes with no problem- makes no sense! Just trial and error!
you could try another brand of oat milk and see if it's any different.

I'm going to steer clear I think. I really can't think it's anything else. I did start fish oil capsules. That just makes me burp fish. 😞
I've eaten porridge with almond milk for about a year. No problem at all. Year I don't seem to be able to tolerate the milk version of oat. So frustrating.

Just a thought you haven't been eating peanuts or any type of nut.
Cheers

Because of the problems you are having with various grains and alternative Milk drinks you need some advise if possible on what to eat or avoid. Try and discuss something like that with your GP.
Like you I can be musical at times, good luck I hope you are able to meet your needs as far as your diet is concerned
