Graphic photo warning!

hi all,

I could use some advice as I can't get to the doctor due to coronavirus. I slept with a guy in January and have been experiencing itching, mild burning, the most annoying tingling and general discomfort down there ever since. The itching, stinging and weird tingling was horrible at first but the Dr. said no herpes and even took a swab. also negative for everything else. Was treated with two pills and cream for yeast and things seemed somewhat better. 3 months later, the symptoms are less but all still come and go. Now i have this weird spot I'm scared is herpes. Noticed it yesterday and it was just a big red spot but not raised and didn't hurt. thought it could be an ingrown hair so showered and put some alcohol on it. think i irritated it washing in the shower as my soap has exfoliating stuff in it. Then tonight it looked kinda raw and wet so I freaked out. it stung when touched and now idk what it is.

thanks to anyone that gets thru all this info to put in their word.!

    Hi,

This doesn't look like herpes, looks like ingrown hair, do not use this type of soap, try using pH neutral soap for you intimate area, remember it is a very delicate skin.

It is a fact that after having sex with a new partner yeast infections are possible, and also BV, the reason is unclear, but it is very common.

    I hope this helped!

Thank you so much for replying. I purchased some bars of unscented very mild soap from your suggestion.

is it normal for an ingrown hair to turn into a raw spot thats a little wet? it was open and raw before i made it worse by showering. I haven't experienced an ingrown like that so that is why i worried about herpes.

    hi again,

The raw spot turned into a somewhat painful sore a day or two later. Went to a local clinic and they were almost sure it was herpes. They swabbed it just in case and sent me home with antiviral pills. The swab came back negative but they still want a blood test. They were unclear about the timing for the blood test though and gave several answers. If this was a hypothetical outbreak how long should one wait for a blood test?

this was the first one I noticed but it is completely healed now. Did you get a diagnoses for your spot in question?

Your spot does look pretty similar. I was also freaking out at first and the whole ordeal has been pretty stressful. I really encourage you to get it looked at before it heals if you can. It will be much easier to get a diagnosis and might help put your mind at ease. I'll let you know when I know for sure what it was.

herpes takes 2-4 months to show up in your blood. I always wait 4 months because by then you will know for sure if you have the virus. some people can have the virus show up as early as 2 months but that's not as common. I heard igm can be detected in 2 weeks after exposure but you have to be quick because igm dissapears after a while and wont show up in a test
