Terrified of lingual hernia surgery

I have been diagnosed with a lingual hernia I'm very nervous to have surgery the mesh complications from mesh and just a phobia of blood insides and drs in general I dont know what to expect and I'm also on a methadone taper and have been off my prescription for almost 6 months I don't want to be treated as a junkie by the doctor as I was not buying street drugs I was put on this from a addiction to prescriptions I was given by a doctor and did not do enough research and was stuck on this medication I do not want to be stuck on this medication because it makes me very sick and is why I have to taper so quickly but am terrified of surgery and dont k ow how severe the pain is afterwards I want to request no pain meds just motrin but do not know what to expect any advice ?

    weird that nobody replied, i assume u had the surgery already.

    i didnt have any pain meds besides what they pumped into me before surgery.

    hurt like hell for 2 days taking just extra strength tylenol, but i had a double open hernia.

    i was given morphine pills but was afraid to take them.

    helps to have a reclining chair to sit in for 2-4 days
