Terrified of palpitations, please help

I’ve got myself on the health anxiety downward spiral again.
I had palpitations on/off in 2013, ecg and 24hr ecg all ok. They went and I only ever then got them on very rare occasions
Last week they came back with a vengeance- I had them daily, lots of them. Couldn’t think what had caused them but they stressed me out and got worse. Runs of them that terrified me.
Went to GP - had another ecg which came up “incomplete right bundle branch block” and he said the T waves were inverted. Wanted to refer me to a cardiologist.
A GP at my work looked at both ecgs and said the one in 2013 looked the same as this one and not to worry. He listened to my heart and said it sounded ok.
Since seeing him I have felt a bit better and am taking the beta blockers I was given which I think have helped now.
What worries me is; My brother died in his sleep at 18 months old. Never confirmed what caused it.
I am now convinced he had a heart problem that I’ve inherited and I’m a ticking time bomb.. i did tell the doctor this and he just said “did anyone else die suddenly under 45 in your family?”
I’m terrified . Can’t sleep, can’t eat. Someone reassure me I don’t think I can bear waiting to see the cardiologist !

Heart "palps" are one of the most common anxiety symptoms from my short time researching the affliction.
If your heart is checking out fine, it is highly likely your anxiety is causing it. (Not a doctor, or medical advice etc. etc).
I'm having palps, weakness, loss of balance, weakness, night sweats, fatigue, tinnitus, GI trouble and a whole bunch of other stuff too. So if you've just got the flutters you're probably doing better than me.

i had palps very badly for about 3-4 months. After seeing doctors, and analysing situation, I was put on beta blockers and it went away. I occasionally get it, but nothing compared to before. I got a sudden cough/flutter in my chest and panicked. I realised it was a due to a psychological barrier I was experiencing. I lived next door to some nightmare neighbours who were giving all the locals trouble with noise and aggravation. I worked locally and walked home. I began to get the flutters and palps on way home. It first happened near a tree on the route home. I then realised I was getting it every time I walked past that tree. I dreaded going past it, as it happened almost every time.
I'm not saying your experience is the same, but the mind can send signals through out the body when in distress or in a a state of anxiety. , and that may be a contributing factor to your experiences. Maybe not, but thought I'd say.
