Terrified that deviated septum surgery next week won't cure my smelly saliva??

This is only the second time I have volunteered to share my condition with my doctor being the first.

So basically for my entire life, my saliva has always had a fruity or vinegar smell and is always thick. 24hrs/ 7 days week. Doesn't matter if I brush a thousand times or gargle a gallon of mouth wash. The smell is ALWAYS there. This condition has controlled my entire life and has even pushed me to points where I thought life was unbearable.

Last year I decided to finally tell my doctor and she said I had post nasal drip and wanted me to go to the allergy clinic. They ended up making me do all the shots, got close to done when I realized pretty much nothing has changed. Not even the allergy medicine helped. So I went back to my doctor and she sent me to see an ENT who concluded that i have a deviated septum and the mucus from the post nasal could be mixing with my saliva. I felt so embarrassed and disgusted that this was really going.

I am just so terrified this wont make the smell go away as i have tried all the options that i know of but also hopeful as it will change my life.

Has anyone experienced this condition before?
