Why did you take them any way? Do you have anxeity? The best thing to talk to you doctor and start therapy and if you dont get better then the doctor will start you an ssri.
I am not a fan of benzo myself but some people are ok with it. I have xanax but never used them and i wont but hey thats me only and i am not the right person to say what to do. But ssri are much safer than benzo for long term treatment. Yes they are suck in the begining but once they adjusted in your system they work wanderfully.

When you said "SSRI" are safer, and they suck in the beginning" what do mean by suck? I heard they take a few weeks to work, but by "suck" they it make you feel worse before it helped you?
I was thinking of taking them so I can leave my house again, but being scared of medications sucks.

I am agoraphobic myself ( house bound ) and i say to myself, ok 1 or 2 weeks to feel bad is small price to get mylife back. Ok they suck at the begining , but my life is suck also .... No pain no gain i will hang in there.

An occasional benzo like valium is not an issue. However if you have been on ssris for 15 years and you need to take a valium, have your doctor check the dosage of your ssri or evaluate whether a different drug may work better. If an ssri works, one does not and should not require a benzo top-up except under extreme circumstances. All the best.

I took Valium 5mg once back in October 2016 when I went to the hospital (Urgent care) I was scared to take it, in my mind I was thinking what if make it worse, it took me a while before I said yes I'll take it.
Here arey anxiety symptoms.
Dizziness, lightheaded, heart racing, headaches, numbness, chest pains, sweety hands, feet, racing thoughts, jelly legs, sleeping problems, lack of focus, derealization, neck, back, and shoulders pains, the Valium kicked in with 5 or 10 minutes, and all the symptoms slowly went away, the only side effects I noticed I felt like a zombie.
The med lasted for 11 hours, but keep in mind, I was at the hospital at night I was only there for a few hours l, as the doctor fan a EKG. And blood work, when I went home I ate, and went to sleep, I didn't feel like a Zombie till I got home, I fell asleep within a few minutes, I only woke maybe twice, unlike before I'll wake up at least 5 or 6 times, and each time I'll wake up my heart would start racing, and I'll have racing/negative thoughts, but I didn't with the med.
That was the only time I ever took any Anxiety med, I still have anxiety, along with agoraphobia, once the med worn off I was back to my anxious self

Hi Hamo
Maybe the date if they have been opened. Anxiety alone can cause the dry mouth and throat so there is that to consider also.
When i had accute anxiety a few months ago. I sa my GP in desperation and he prescribed me diazapam which is the same . he said it will help break the cycle i had got in through health anx.
However i have the same phobia about taking meds like that but i broke a 2mg tab into four peices 0.25 dose. That little amount didnt really do anything but it enabled me to get over the fear and for about a week , i did the same thing each morning when my anxiety was at its worse.... and it broke the cycle and before i knew it i was 95%better. The actual amount wasnt really enough to quell the anx but the thought that i was breaking the cycle enabled me to cope better each day.
However i also started mindful meditation, listening to positive affirmations and did and still do progressive muscle training 10 mins every morning before getting up and all that helped me to change my thought pattern about anxiety.
I did tons of research about mindfulness and how it can help this.
I still have the diazapam just as a security blanket if need be.. but with breaking them into small peices i only used 2 in 8 days .
I hope my input helps good luck xx😊

Personally I would avoid benzos and any opiates like the plague. They cause more problems and take ages to taper off.
