Hi everyone on this forum. I am Canadian and am devastated at what has been happening in Manchester and London. I just want to send my sympathy and prayers to all the victims of these terrible attacks.

I know this isn't a popular thing to say, but I also think about and pay for the families of the perpetrators. Many of these people are young, or somehow vulnerable, and ready to be exploited by those who never put themselves in harm's way but fill the minds of others with false dreams and ideas, lies, and hatred. For the vast majority, their families well have had no idea that they are being put on harm's way, and there will be no sign of how they are being used and abused by people whose only real goal is personal power.
Britain is better than this, and we won't let these people divide us. Our strength is in our diverse communities, and we won't be letting anyone push us apart. That's what they want. They want us to be suspicious of each other, to fuel hatred towards each other, and to keep us apart. Guess what chaps- it won't be happening. You can take your bombs and your vehicles and your knives and your guns, but you will not win. And that is the message from all of us, whatever we believe, whatever we call God, and even if we don't believe at all. We don't bow to terrorists. We don't change our way of life. And we will continue to grow strong communities that represent people of all cultures, colors and beliefs; and who celebrate that fact.

sometimes we feel angry, upset but mostly helpless -
let us try to not join the hateful and instead come together to hold and keep the light - for all and every one ...
love, light, healing and peace

We were walking over London Bridge three days ago with my little girls and friends....could have happened to anyone at anytime. Explaining all of this to them has been horrendous, especially as they adore Ariana and can not understand why anyone would want to kill eight year old little girls....out of the mouth of babes...
I hope Rocket is okay, he works in this area, sending out our love and light to all corners of the world this evening, and pray for those that were lost.

Thanks, Ginny. I've witnessed a lot in my 90 years ... some good, some bad. I can only say that hatred and evil have never triumphed and they shall not now nor ever while there are people like you who can feel for others.

Many thanks for your best wishes. As someone who has worked in central London for several years, I know that Londoners are a brave bunch, and will not let this stop them going about their daily routines. I am retired now, but have many close friends who still work there.
I was working there when the 7/7 outrage in 2005 happened, and more recently very close to two events close to parliament. I know that the emergency and security services work so hard to keep us all safe, and I thank them.
