Test for Serotonin malabsorption

Posted , 1 user is following.

Hi everyone,

Hope you are all OK

I recently watched a brilliant documentary regarding how one man supported and researched the effects of Antidepressants (Venlafaxine) on his wife.

What was amazing was to do with a test (urine) called 5-H1AA , I think that was the name of it.

it is used to test Serotonin level, but mainly used to test a related tumour.

However, this test was completed by this man's wife: And the findings were that she had a massive amount of Serotonin, but, it was not being malabsorbed.

I have been on antidepressants both SSRI and SNRI for about 21 years.

Are there any members with experience or views on this matter?

Regards to you all
