Test results question

Posted , 3 users are following.

During routine blood work on 8/8/18 my TSH came in at 0.02.  Went back for additional blood test on9/10/18  This time TSH was 3.76.  The Free T4 was 0.8.  I am not on any medications.  I have a follow up appt in a week or so.  But I was wondering if anyone has had the fluctuation of the TSH.  I have many of the symptoms of hypothyroidism.  I just want to be prepared with as much information when I go to follow up appt.  Any feedback would be appreciated.

I have seen results like this in patients who have Hashimoto’s thyroiditis.  In patients who have Hashi’s, the antibodies attack the thyroid gland directly whereas in patients who have Graves’ disease, the antibodies attack the TSH receptors in the pituitary gland.  Hopefully your doc will give you meds for HYPOthyroidism now.
