tested positive for hsv1 but need some clarity please (pics included)

I dont have and havent had any itching or blisters or ulcers or crusting normally associated with hsv. just dry patches of skin that started off with one red dry patch then many others followed over the course of weeks/months. i noticed this in April 2022. i assumed i was having a reaction to something that caused my skin to flare up like a soap or something or maybe jock itch. my bikini line changed drastically as far as getting darker. i had a very clean bikini line. I then thought i was experiencing something called pityriasis rosea which i see if also a form of herpes. the reason i assumed this is because it began with one reddish dry circular patch which they call a "herald's patch" which is then accomapanied by smaller other patches in pityriasis rosea. It is now June 13 2022 the day i tested positive for hsv1 but the symptoms i have experienced and still am began in april which is well over an episode for a break out. i began bathing in selsun blue thinking i was having an allergic reaction and i feel like it has helped the patches subside since they are like dry skin and then moisturizing the area and also getting sunlight which helps the appearance of the flakiness. when im fresh out the shower the area can get flaky/ashy if i dont moisturize when i get out. my question is could i have been misdiagnosed or does this look like genital hsv1. i also grew up getting cold sores as a kid and still do i havent had one since about 2019. i would only get it in one are a on my cupids bow on my lip & i would cure it with abreva. so i would have assumed it was from there but i dont have a breakout on my lip. please any help for me to gain some clarity. any ways that i can clear up these patches because it is going on 2-3 months now. also i am supposed to go & pick up a prescription of acyclvir 800 today. 3x a day for 10 days then come back for a retest.
