Testiculart pain!

Hi everyone,

I recently had intense pain in the right testis and after googling painful testis I came across testicular torsion, which sounded rather scary after thinking that I may have that.

I had bumped my testis about 12 days ago and it was swollen and excruciatingly painful. Now the pain has subsided after taking some antibiotics but the swelling is still there and the testis seems to be out of place a little.

I want to know how long, in a case if testicular torsion,  does it take for the testis to completely die if unattended to, and if it is dead, can one still feel pain on it when torching it and would it become softer after it died or it remains hard like when it was swollen?

I am due for a scan in two days!

    Hi N, As soon as you read about this you should have been in A&E you would have got help there and then as the longer you wait yes it can die from lack of blood flow to it.

    Hope by now things are looking good.
