Tests to have done

Just realised that for years of having stomach related issues there are things that doctors have not tested me for at all. Had stomach issues since 2013 starting off mild to the point now where im in pain every day and even with a strict diet in still suffering.
Ive never had an mri or ct scan of the stomach, liver, kidneys or the small bowel. Can anyone tell me the benefits of why you would have one of these scans?
All ive had to date is endoscopy (found gastritis) ultrasound of stomach and organs. Full blood tests for celiac and allergies etc.
Not had colonoscopy they refused to give me one due to my age and no blood in stool.
Any other tests anyone can recommend? Doctors never seem to help they just put me on a 6 month waiting list to speak to a consultant which results in nothing...
So once again can anyone inform me of any benefits to having mri/ct scan of stomach areas? Or any other similiar tests to recommend?

hi jo, i am no expert and won't be quoted as such but i do know the science is that different tests examine different parts of the body and can rule anything or rule it in, it may show polyps, ulcers, problems with the liver, gallbladder etc. an endoscopy sees in to your small intestine etc, a colonoscopy will see up your bottom in the other direction. what an mri will do i have no idea if your doctor feels you have IBS/something similar but ct scans i have heard of often on here. i hope you get the correct results, your doctor will know best.

Hallo, you are one of many who develop gut problems and cant see the way out of them. You seem to have had quite a few tests so I dont think you are being neglected. No doctor or consultant will order a test if they feel it will be of no help and Sam is right you have to trust them. You mentioned your age...how old are you?Can you describe the symptoms you are suffering and what sort of diet you are following? Are you taking any sort of medication?
