Thank you for this forum

I am 22, female, and feel this is the answers I've been looking for. It stated about 5 months ago after a month long viral infection, that inventually turned bacterial. Ever since then, I hadn't felt quite the same. It began with frequent brain fog, headaches, tiredness, exhaustion, body aches, orthostatic symptoms, and the need to inhale deeply. I felt like I was making it up to my friends, boyfriend, doctor, and myself! But I knew that this wasn't me. I feel like I'm 70 time to time.

I discovered one of the discussions recommended decreased intake of sugar (even fruit), carbs, and recommending higher intake of protein, nuts, and vegetables. I am definitely going to try this. Thank you for all the support here, made me feel a lot better.

Yep, Lotus. Unfortunately, it sounds like you may have ME/CFS. But it's important not to assume anything. You should get bloodwork done to exclude other possibilities. Then, if everything is normal, see an ME/CFS specialist (an infectious disease doctor).  You seem pretty smart about this, because diet is important. No sugar or caffeine, by the way. Best of luck.

I had the exact same symptoms as you've described after having glandular fever and I was diagnosed with post viral fatigue by an endocrinologist. They did a pathology test and a synathan test which flagged it up. Good luck. It's quite a long recovery process. I'm still recovering 6 months later after being diagnosed. I also see a Nutrionist who has me on a variety of vitamins which I believe helped me a great deal. happy to help with more info if you need it. Haylee x

Thank you so much for pointing me in a direction, and with the test name. I am going to follow up on that!
