That dreaded time of month that makes me happy

As a fellow pcos chick I don't have a menstral cycle, in fact up until the last 6 weeks I haven't had a natural period in about 6 years. Now they have suddenly came back and I'm delighted on about it, I'm ttc so I feel it's like a step forward. It's been a long battle, losing weight and struggling to control my diabetes etc

here's my actual question tho! Does anyone else struggle with their period? I've never had "normal" ones before so I'm pretty much a 12 yr old in a 30 yr olds body haha but I feel I get in a mess etc feel horrible, want to bathe/shower a lot. Obv I'm using sanitary products etc but I feel abit panicked that there's so much blood/fluid etc. feel like I'm a naive kid trying to catch up rather than a woman. I just wonder if anyone else feels this way or am I nuts haha

    Hi

I was told I had pcos about 6 weeks ago after going to the docs as I was on my 18th day of bleeding (aswell as having extra hair, weight n trying to conceive for over 3yrs) and my periods are terrible. I'll go weeks even months with nothing then they last forever. I think I should have shares in ALWAYS as I buy so many. Im always worried about leaking as they're so heavy and constantly showering-sometimes 3 a day.

Im hoping once I've lost a load of weight and carried on taking tablets they'll start to settle :-)

    Hi Gem_rock,

I haven't had "normal" periods in well over 6 years, even when I was first on the the pill. I can totally empathise with the wanting to be cleaner more often. Some times my periods are very light and I worry that all of a sudden the flood gates are going to open and that I am going to need a blood transfusions (daft I know) and other times I worry that I am bleeding too much that I think I am losing too much and think that I am just going to drop to the floor. After everything that people HAVEN'T been through it is surely normal to not have the knowledge of certain things that others not in the same position would.

Think of it like this, if you changed career from being a Dr to wanting to get into law, then you would be starting at the same place as younger students would be. So it is perfectly normal x x x

I'm glad someone else gets it! I'm used to not having them lol yet the excess hair, extra testosterone that's a breeze ha ha. I'm not fun to be around when the hormones hit though, something else I've not had to get used to x x x
