The boot

I have not been wearing my boot. It feels better without it. Will that hinder my foot from getting well?

Yes. I would wear the boot until your doctor tells you your bone has healed. I think you  don’t want it to heal a fraction off, because I’ve heard that can cause arthritis later in life.

There is a more comfy sleeping boot my doctor gave me if that helps...but it’s not  that long in the realm of a lifetime. This injury teaches you patience for sure!!! When you can get into a pool - it gives you such a feeling of freedom!!!

Hi e51145.it is really important to wear the boot to support your ankle while it heals. There is always the possibility that you could fall or knock your leg and the boot would provide protection. If your specialist tells you to wear the boot it must be for a reason. If you do damage the ankle they might not be able to put things right.I understand how good it feels to have the freedom to move around but better safe than sorry.Best wishes for a speedy recovery Nonita

I removed mine while reclining and elevating my foot. If my foot was down or I was moving it was on 100% of the time. You should be following your doctor's orders as they are for your benefit.
