The Curse of CAMRA

Posted , 4 users are following.

You're in a pub (maybe not so much nowadays) and you are bored and pick up the CAMRA (Campaign for real ale) magazine.

Doesn't matter where you are in the UK, when you turn to page three there's always a little box informing the members that the treasurer/ the deputy editor/ the bloke who writes the unfunny 'funny' page at the back/ has died aged 63 from unspecified causes. It's always 63.

What mystery illness is wiping out CAMRA members in their early 60's?

(OK, it's not a typical thread on here but at least it's something new in the last 4 days. Anybody ever joined CAMRA? It's just alcoholics with a list, no?)

    Hi Alex,

i know of Camra and guess that he or she passed away due to the long love of ales. Thourough testing for 35 or 40 years could damage your liver. Only guessing..

As has been said before, the new forum layout probably puts people off posting.
