The dream that keeps on giving...

Went to take a little nap this afternoon. As I drifted off, I dreamt that my sister and I were walking in my house when my operation leg suddenly gave way and I fell.
I took in a sharp, very audible breath as I woke with my leg in the air by about 10 or so centimetres and twisted a bit. Two hours later, my whole leg is still in pain. I don't think I did any real damage; just having a rant. But I hope I don't have any more dreams like that...

What kind of pain is it, Lee? muscle ache or sharp pain shooting down from hip ..
can you stand on it and walk at all ?
Interesting that you woke up with leg about 10 cm in the air and twisted ...
If the pain gets worse or not going away you might want to have it checked out ..
take it easy today darling

I think the leg raised and twisted when I "fell" in my dream and not before. Probably a muscle spasm.

checking in with you this morning - hopefully you slept well and no strange dreams and the pain has settled down -
A jerky move like that can certainly cause this pain -
don't push yourself too much okay?

Pushed the heavy trolley out to the street to flag down a taxi, but didn't see one. So pushed it to the corner and around to the other entrance. No taxi. Pushed it into the shopping centre and called for a taxi, then pushed it back outside. It got stuck, so I had to sidle around to the front and lift the wheels...
Waited in vain for my taxi. Decided to cross the street as I'd seen some going the other way. Trolley got stuck twice on the way off the kerb and twice on the other side of the road... had to lift it again.
Waited in vain some more. Decided to walk a couple of blocks to a taxi pick-up spot. Got the bags out and made it about five steps. They kept swinging in front of my crutches and I just couldn't do it. Stood there in agony for about 10 mins, then dragged the bags back to the trolley and started pushing.
Two uphill blocks later, I made it to the other centre and used the taxi phone.
There was a bus taxi outside picking up some wheelchair-bound shoppers and when my taxi arrived there was nowhere for him to pull in. I kind of waved a crutch around so the driver could see it was a bit complicated. He then did a U-turn and I thought he was going to drive off. Nearly cried at that point, but he came back around and was able to park when the bus taxi left.
Took me nearly three hours to get home and I then had to lug the bags up the front steps.
Am now self-medicating with a Guinness...

I was pretty scared about the pain I was in, but it started lessening almost as soon as I was home so I stopped worrying that I'd done something.
Will not be going out for a few days...

After an experience like that, I'm not surprised you are staying in for a while.
Hope you have not caused any delay to your recovery
Best wishes

Feeling okay today. I did sit on the floor this afternoon when I was doing something and so engaged in it I forgot I wasn't supposed to do that until after I'd already done it. Didn't seem to hurt, so I just finished what I was doing and grabbed a rail to get up. Again, no problem...
I'm a bad girl at this patient business; patience has never been a virtue of mine. But I will endeavour to be careful...
