The fishy smell won’t leave!!! HELP

I had a bf for 2 years. He cheated on me & gave me  chlamydia, BV, and type 1 herpes. YIKES, I know! I got treated, and everything went back to normal and I left him. I went 2 years without having any sexual contact. I now date someone new. We’ve practiced safe sex, but now we reached the stage of comfort , we decided to have unprotected sex. Literally the next day, I’ve experienced a slight fishy smell. My paranoia is rising!! I’m positive that it’s BV, because BV came up a few times during the years I was unactive.  I just want to know once I find someone to be  monogamous  with, do I have to use condoms all the time to prevent BV from happening? what if i want to get pregnant? Should i avoid oral sex as well?

I’m going to get tested, and i want my partner to too. Just want to hear you guys thoughts. Thank you.

It sounds like you are super sensitive to semen which I think is how mine was caused. I had unprotected sex with a guy I was talking to for a while. And about a week later I noticed a fishy odor and clear and white discharge. Definitely get tested for everything and make sure that isn’t a factor as well as the BV. As far as the BV goes, I would just recommend not having unprotected sex. Sounds like your flora gets thrown off from semen and you probably have chronic BV which comes and goes with some women and just won’t gonaway at all with others. As far as I know there is no “cure” and antibiotics which most doctors prescribe can actually make things worse. I would try home remedies to try and manage your odor and don’t have any unprotected sex.

    Good luck to you!

Well this is not a one size fit all but prayerfully it will help.  I just recently dealt with BV and a UTI.  I tried to self treat but things weren’t moving swiftly enough for me, so I went to the doctor.  Given antibiotics and all cleared but then a yeast infection started to follow.  Self treated that no problem.  I hate antibiotics!  I normally eat yogurt 2x a day and drink nothing but water.  Well started having sex again (2-3x per week) with my boyfriend and haven’t been having issues but about 3 weeks later, the dreaded BV just returned.  That was Monday 4/23 when I noticed the fishy smell. I was determined not to go back to the doctor.  I realized I hadn’t had any yogurt for about 2 days and I had a Sprite.  I immediately started back eating Activia yogurt and drinking water.  Water detoxifies you.  To rid myself of this recent BV, I soaked in Apple Cider Vinegar and tea tree oil for about 20 minutes today and yesterday morning.  Last night I also mixed apple cider vinegar, witch hazel and water and gently applied to outside of my vagina with a cotton ball and again this morning.  I also started a probiotic supplement and garlic capsules.  Oh yeah, I also started drinking Apple Cider Vinegar & Honey & water.   I buy the Bragg’s Raw Unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar...they also have one with the honey already mixed.  Taste good.  Maybe over kill but guess what?  NO FISHY SMELL or DISCHARGE today!!!
