The Gym - I did it!

Posted , 5 users are following.

Hi Everyone,

I've had my first session at the gym for over 9 months and I feel good :run: What I'll feel like tomorrow is questionable! I am now going to reward myself with a healthy glass of the red stuff :redwine: I know, it defeats the object rather but it does feel as though a little celebration is in order. Look out for tomorrow's post that may well say 'can't move a muscle'...

Regards

Hi Mrs G. You're describing exactly how I feel at the moment. I have energy and enthusiasm and its great. Your trip to Prague sounds wonderful and I'm so impressed with the Royal name dropping :wow: We're off to France for the day next week (for medicinal liquids) and I'm reassured by your experience. Everything seemed to change when I went down to 10mgs - my old life started to return. Once again, so pleased to hear you sounding so well. Keep it up!

    Hi

Said I would update you with my progress on steroid reduction I have now been on 4mg since January and have just recently started 3.5mg. Going very very slowly on Ragners regime. week 1 on 3.5mg second week back to 4mg. Must admit at the end of the 1st week on 3.5mg I was getting a bit stif. But will carry on with reduction. I have just got back from my hols and I must admit I to feel full of energy and generally feel so much better it may be the better weather although wet it is reasonably warm. Even work is not so bad.

Keep positive there seems to be a light at the end of the tunnel.

That's brilliant Linda :wow: . Its very encouraging when I hear about someone getting down as low as 4/3.5mgs. I'm on 10mgs at the moment and since reducing to this dose I have felt so much better. Not sure if its the PMR fading or the reduction in steroids making me feel better, but I'm certainly not complaining. I start a very slow reduction on 1st April. Something my Consultant has been trying out and is finding quite a lot of success. I have mentioned it before but will bore you with it! 1st week: one day on 9mgs/ 6 days on 10mgs. 2nd week: one day 9mgs/ 3 days 10mgs/ one day 9mgs/ 2 days 10mgs and so on. It means I go down by 1mg every 7 weeks and by my mathmatics will take me about 63 weeks not allowing for (the expected) occasional hiccup. We'll see how it goes. I think its similar to Ragner's Regime. So pleased you came back from your holidays feeling refreshed. Its not just the return of energy, its the return of enthusiasm for doing things that's delighting me. Keep well and let us know how the reduction goes. Longing to hear of someone who has come off of the steroids completely and still feeling good.
