The Mental side of glandular fever.

Not really an update but recently Ive been suffering a mild to moderate depression and anxiety pangs. I know those two are effects of the virus. However Im hoping they will go when I get back to my old self. I don't really wanna go on any medication for it as im already on levothyroxine. Anyone who is at a later stage in the virus who have experienced the mental side of it let me know how you dealt with the issue. Other than that the physical side touch wood Im slowly coming back

Heya, ive been ill since last august and suffered the same depression and anxiety. GF really does seem to be a waiting game. I really struggled to find a focus or anything to look forward to hence the negativity, i turned into a GF tv zombie. Now the most important thing to remember is that your health comes first and everyday no matter if u feel better or worse is a day closer to getting better. Thinking like this is helping me get through the rough days. Look after yourself, your body needs some tlc.

Hope this helps a little, no magic cure just a little positivity

    All the best

    Hi Jelley,

It's totally understandable for you to be feeling this way, one thing many doctors seem to underestimate is the mental pain and turmoil that the virus causes because of its intense symptoms and its longevity.

You will get back to your old self Jelley, definitely I truly believe that. Remember there is hope and you will get there with recovery - just so frustrating it takes time in many cases - but 100% I believe that you will get there. Thinking of you and remember if things get worse it is always worth talking to the doc about medication, it has helped me most of my adult life and is nothing to think bad about.
