The musician Prince & hip replacement

Posted , 8 users are following.

At first, it was a surprise to read that from time to time Prince needed a cane to walk. When you think about it, with all that jumping around athletically, it is NOT surprising.

We are in Minneapolis, & Prince was THEIR native son, so the news is still full of stories about him, & the vigils continue.

It is speculated that he'd had or needed THR, & from reading a lot in this forum, as well as helping my own son in his own journey of recovery, there is a lot of pain, painkillers, & dealing with it.

All the money & fame can't buy you health. Sad.

Said he had hip surgery in 2010, and has been in pain for years...Percocet drug of choice, that's what my surgeon gave me....I'm in MI and the radio constantly playing his music.  Sad, music of my life...

Yes, supposed but unconfirmed on the HR, Loral. Percocet is an opioid and has side effects and, I'm sure, similar withdrawal to the painkillers my son was prescribed.

Loral I was just in Target, and every other song was Prince. ~waving hello to you from MN~

Aloha, Khippie - I'm actually from Honolulu & here in Minneapolis where Prince is from. I thought it was both ironic and sad when I read about Prince's possible hip problems while I'm here helping my son recover. Paisley Park is 25 miles away from Minneapolis in Chanhassen. I'm going to watch the excitement on the news! Everywhere I go, they are talking about Prince - he is THAT amazing.

I do hope you continue to recover without more hiccups! Thinking of you.

I forgot to look out the window last night - I can see SOME of the city of Minneapolis from here - but I will tonight to look for purple lights. The sky was purplish, though, Basia.

    Hi Soos,

So sad ... I am afraid that we will never know what really made him stop breathing - same as with Michael Jackson -

    R.I.P

    Big warm hug

Aloha, Renee! He was seen waiting in the parking lot of Walgreens (!) waiting for a prescription. I wonder if, sadly, this was either an overdose or complication... Hope you are doing well Renee. Take care.
