The NHS 'Almost Killed Me'...

Hi all,

Today, I read that Nigel Farage nearly died because of the NHS. He claimed "incompetence and negligence" by NHS doctors almost killed him when he was suffering from testicular cancer. I know from my own experience that I had Testicular Cancer, yet I was being treated by my NHS Doctor for an infection - but I had informed my own doctor that there was Cancer on my side of the family. After 6 weeks of seeing my doctor and being treated for an infection, I said to me it seems I have polyps on my right testicle and if was an infection surely it would have cleared up by now and becoming worse. My doctor gave me a slip of paper to take to A&E for an Ultrasound Scan to be done and checked by a Urologist. This was all on the NHS, not private, because we as paupers in this country on disability benefits.

He then went on to say "The UKIP leader says he is "a fan" of the health service, but advises voters to use private healthcare if they can afford it.". If he is a fan of the NHS service then why did he go private, he has more money than me, I even have to pay the DWP for loan from 10 years ago, and they will not even accept their own letters as evidence! And that is another £18 out of our money per week!! Private Care is something we only look at, not pay for.

I could say the NHS nearly killed me, but would that get me in to the papers, or even Private Care? No, we have to rely on the NHS, and after all of the problems and disorders I have been through over the years and I have been close to death 3 times. Do you see me smoking and drinking down my local pub? No, because I am on too many medications a day, and smoking I gave up, I notice Nigel didn't even with having Cancer.

We have to live like paupers because of gov'ts, not just cutting Benefits, Health and basically everything else - if we want something, we have to fight for ourselves and even then we get knocked back.

My wife and I this week have hit so many brick walls because of laws that we have to abide by, the DWP is EXEMPT from, how are we supposed to win anything.

Every night with Party Political Broadcasts - we switch the TV off! We are sick and disabled, and we just do not want to listen to it - I know many people do the same.

Perhaps if politians actually seen what we have to do, or our carers in many cases they would think twice and make exceptions but that would be asking too much!

Rant over!!  I'm having a bad week

Regards,

Les.

How can you get a good week the way things are? No party is poised to put things right.

What about tactical voting to get the worst ones out that are in now?

Then it has to be the Raving Loony party - the only sane ones

Tactical George, tactical! The only other party with any chance of gettings these monsters out is Labour, you know it, eveyone knows it!

That is unless you become prime minister? Yay vote for George! lol Why didn't I think of it before.

Well Georgia I might sacrifice myself and accept the miserly pittance allowed th Prime Minister, the expense allowance so wholly inadequate and suffer the rides in the chauffeur driven jaguar to first class flights to conferences in super expensive hotels. Oh dear oh dear, and waving to my adoring fans who are desperate that I allow them to pay more in taxes . . . .

I would suffer all that and more if only to avoid governments lead by Dav, Deputy PM Ed or PM Ed DPM Dav.  eek

Have I just woken from a nightmare screaming, "no no no no no no,no" and been carted off the the loony bin?  sad

'...they will not even accept their own letters as evidence!'

So they don 't even believe themselves! How are we expected to?

Well, the thing is the guy said as an excuse "Sir, it maybe sent out in error!" so then my wife butted in and said "You, class over 20 letters sent out - by mistake?" - even your lies don't add up.

He paused many times when we asked numerous questions because we had the figures and dates in front of us. Most of his answers were "Well, it's not on our system!" - Now, who do you believe?

Tomorrow, I will see first hand in the bank - I put off appointments to go to the bank, so we can get the required details of payments, descriptions of departments and dates.

Would you believe he even said with bank statements we will still need to prove it all. How do you win?

Hi Les, it quite the fire is belief that out rages behaviour of very journeyer government servants. There are so ignorant that their abilities are a structured to reading information from the computer screens which form the parameters of their daily tasks. They presume that what they are reared cannot to be other than accurate and relevant. Anything outside of those parameters does not exist for them.

A tax department decided for reasons best known itself to open a second tax account for my wife. They then proceeded to tax her income for a second time. No amount of discussion or pleading or explanation or evidence of the correct tax office made the slightest difference. A visit to the local tax office gained the agreement of an experienced clerk that indeed there was a duplication . An appeal against the second assessment failed because the figures in it were correct. The double amount of tax was a 'collection' problem.  In the end we paid over £2000 of duplicate tax to avoid the huge penalties and interest.

I submitted the tax return for the next year to the correct office only. A few weeks later the assessment was issued and the overpaid tax was returned without comment. Happily I have had no further contact with the office which created the spurious records. I still feel outraged at this appalling abuse of power. It seems to me to illustrate the same sort of difficulty that Les has just described. It also illustrates that this appalling abuse and incompetence runs through more than one department of government.

Ridiculous as it seems we the taxpayers are paying the salaries of these incompetent clerks, their managers, the designers of these faulty systems and the politicians who are their masters.

That George, is a well thought out piece of written work there my friend. I must admit it is very much to the point where my wife and I are just starting from. Tomorrow, a trip to the bank it will be, but the way the system works, I may be able to get dates, times, descriptions and amounts - but one problem may even bring that evidence to an halt. That is if the DWP want it it on Bank headed paper, because by the Data Protection Act 1998 the bank is not obligated to print out transactions from our account further back than 7 years.

Surely, if I can produce a piece of paper of the exact dates and amounts with descriptions the DWP is quite capable at looking in to the correct department that dealt with the Social Fund Loan at that time. But to be honest they will refuse on principle and require it all on headed paper. The problem with the DWP and evidence from their own departments makes no difference makes one wonder why they put on stupid statements/letters "Please keep for future reference". That to me is a pointless statement when they do not even class that as evidence themselves.

We have been going through paperwork over the weekend, and can still find no statements from 2005 and only a few from 2006. I noticed we are not the only people they have done this to either, some people have letters stating they owe them unpaid loans from 14 or even 20 years ago? Who keeps bank statements from this period of time or letters for that matter? Not, a single person as yet beat their system because of the lack of evidence, so hopefully I can hope that we get a bit further with an "Ace up my sleeve", if all else fails.

      Regards,

      Les.

It occurred to me, with a feeling of sinking despair, that those in charge may have a sense of humour.

Ugh? Are you alright Les? May I help you up from the floor? There now, here's a strong cup of tea. I sure it is not that bad. Just a simple case of in depth, mind numbing, unimaginative incompetence.

Just a thought, while you sip that tea and those involuntary shudders become less frequent, how many years is it in law before the burden of proof switches from you to them? They have not issued statements of indebtedness since ....?
