The patient's playbook by leslie michelson

I am an Insurance cynic, very fearful of what will happen to the country when single payer becomes the law of the land. I saw a review of this book and purchased it a couple of years ago. Many of the comments and references to research sound like they were pulled out of this book. He talks about men with Prostate cancer 2 times and both times he sends them to surgeons who do robotic removals both times, and both had good outcomes. He stressed that they both needed to go to doctors that were well respected and that were experts and had verified good results. The hardest part of this disease is that the average man does not understand what is causing his problem and then assumes that he is getting the best advice when he sees his first Urologist. Unfortunately too many doctors believe that taking a biopsy is the first line of defense and I am glad to see so many men here who warn differently. Sadly most men will find this site too late, they will already have had todays popular procedure at the hands of a novice doctor. I appreciate the posts, wish there were more from men that had successful procedures so that they could weigh in on what worked but unfortunately, they wouldn't need a site like this one.

Those who have had successful procedures do not generally comment. Those who have not complain.

Medicare for all is what this country needs. I also hate insurance companies - I look forward to the day when they will not be needed!

Medicare for all could not exist without insurance companies. The government does not process claims or collect premiums. The government subsidizes insurance companies to do this. Medicare for all will jump taxes sky high for everyone in addition to premiums.

Single payer systems exist in most of the world's developed nations, and they spent substantially less and people live as long or longer as we do in US. Our Medicare system is a single payer system.

Life expectancy is a bogus part of that argument. Just like when people cite deaths from firearms they leave out many details. Suicide by gun is counted as murder. I could ramble on but really don't want to. Its a prostate forum,
A few guys on this forum came to the USA to have treatments that aren't available in their country. Many Canadians come to the USA for treatment. I work for the government. I know one thing, I sure as Hell don't want the government running health care.
