The situation now - very serious question

During the Christmas period I completely changed activities for TEN days. No typing on my pc keyboard. Instead I cooked a lot of food, spent hours in the kitchen, carried groceries from the shop and from the bus, plus rather heavy bags (25 lbs/10 kg) 100 meters, played guitar for 90 minutes etc. No pain whatsoever, no pins and needles, no sensation losses, no swollen hand or fingers, not even temperature changes and ice cold hand(s) during the nights, which I had suffered from for a year! Incredible.
But. Then I went home, typed for some hours on my plastic pc keyboard and it all began again, pains of all kind, a feeling of something stiff or unmoveable inside the hand (hard to describe).
And every time I type for just max 20-30 minutes, I can still feel the hard plastic edges of the pc keyboard buttons on my fingertips for many hours or even days afterwards. Why? Any idea?
Question: Should I now avoid typing for a couple of months to give the fingertips another chance to heal? Or should I keep typing (with pauses), and if so, for how long should I type during one day totally? Anyone in a similar situation? How did you solve it?
