Hi Yvonne from Texas, this is Kerri from Australia 😊

i was originally told I had frozen shoulder and was in the 1st stage, the freezing stage. I then had an ultra sound that showed a full thickness tear in the rotator cuff....to what I have gathered the same symptoms....maybe range is a little worse with the tear. Anyway have had it since end November and have just had surgery to repair tear 5 days ago. It's a long slow recovery I've been told. I think you need to absolutely make sure it's frozen shoulder by getting everything else discounted. You have to know what your dealing with before you can attempt to fix it.

    Good luck Yvonne 😘❌❌❌❌

Hi yvonne, this is Debbie from Suffolk, england. Ive had fs since Nov/Dec. I thought i was almost out of stage 2 last week but the physio sd im still in stage 1 as it was still sooo painful. i couldnt do any exercises she showed me. But i had my 2nd steroid injection on Saturday and (touch wood) am finding a little movement, albeit sore, back in my shoulder that ive not had for a while. Like lifting my arm enough for deoderant, washing the side of my hair, not reached the top yet! And so i will take painkillers all day and do more exercişes tonight. I am struggling for work clothes as i cant get tights on so cant wear dresses or skirts. Im going to wear leggings with a dress today, even tho we are not allowed to wear them. Im sure not seeing me white legs would be worse!! Lol. once u get diagnosis go for whatever they give u, to get some relief. If u have steroid make sure u have physio booked 4 days later as thats why my first one didnt work..xx

Touch wood, my arm is not so painful, yes i get the lain when i knock it or more it in a position it doednt go, but whereas it hurts at least i dont collapse on the floor with the pain! I washed my hair the other day and reached up to touch near the top of the shower, i wasso excited! But then i hurt it whilst trying to wrap my towel round me. Lol. But i think the steroid/anaeshetic injection is working this time! x. I really have no idea what stage im in now either. Lol. Take care.

Hi Yvonne. So sorry you are suffering. If it is FS then the freezing stage is the most painfull. If you are unlucky this stage can last around 9 months. The frozen stage, although still painfull, is a little more bearable but you lose ROM. This moves on to the thawing stage where everything starts to get easier week by week. FS as a condition can last for 2 - 3 years if your really unlucky and some on here have suffered longer. I was lucky as I was thawing after only 11 months (I then had an accident with the same shoulder but that's another story lol). I was told physio was a no no in the freezing stage but so many on here have been sent to physio so it seems everyone has differing ideas on how to treat it. All I can say is the way my ortho treated me seems to have got rid of it quicker than most. Sending you virtual gentle hugs and wishing you a speedy ish recovery. xx

Thank you, sorry sbiut ypur accident.

I did acupuncture and it worked. I am just not sure, what stage i am in.

Hi, if accupuncture worked and cures, then that's great. My consultant advised me to swim. If your pain recurs, request an X-ray to check for calcification etc. it's important to rule out other factors prior to accepting fs and constant pain. Xx

I am so glad you started this thread!

I've been wondering the same here in California. I have no idea what stage I am in. I have improved range of motion , but I attribute that to my PT who does myofascial massage. They massage and gently stretch twice weekly. I am running out of benefits of this very soon. This is a work injury from last May. I had surgery on December. I am not sure when the Frozen process started. I have been in pain daily for one year so no clue as to where I am with all of this

Lots of luck to you and buy a Tens unit on Amazon

So thankful to find this group and get to know some folks in the UK. They have been an amazing help in this and I don't feel alone in this journey.
