The treatment advised on this site helps my blepharitis, it is a bit of a chore to do but amazing how much better your eyes feel.

My symptoms began with a droopy eyelid, and pain behind both eyes like I had been punched. If I tip my head upside down the pain gets unbearable. I bore these symptoms on and off for 3 years as doctors did not diagnose blepharitis. I had lots of time not wearing my contact lenses, thinking these were the cause, and two or three courses of anti biotic ointment for inside my eyes. It was only this year that a doctor said the word blepharitis, and explained how simple eye hygiene can often help a lot. My symptoms above do not seem to be mentioned by anyone else so I thought I would describe them in case anyone else has them.

I still don't know why I should be prone to blepharitis, in desperation to do something I am taking the herb "Eye bright" but I think I am probably a sucker looking for a miracle cure which doesn't exist!

I have also suffered for years and the condition was only diagnosed last year. The pain is unreal, I can't go out during the day and sit with the curtains shut most of the time. I don't like to go anywhere on my own now, because, even if I'm having a \"good day\", if they suddenly flare up I am blind. I am amazed there is so little known about this and that it took a visit to a specialist eye hospital to diagnose it. In many ways it is worse than being blind because of the pain. I wish you well and would be interested to know how you get on with the eyebright (I'm a bit of a coward - I'm frightened to try anything like that in case it makes it worse!)

A friend and myself were able to kill Blepharitis. She used an Avon Facial Scrub as her Blepharitis moved up onto her eyelids. It had Benzethonium Chloride in it. I could not find that for sale so looked on line and found what other products had Benzethonium Chloride in them. I ended up using WET ONES, antibacterial hand wipes, in the red box.

I tore each one into 8 pieces and cleaned each eyelash area 2 times. I did this 4 times a day and after a week and about a half I went down to 3 times a day (eyes felt better). After this I went down to 2 times a day for a couple of months. After that, it itched once or twice. I jumped on it with the wipes for a day and then it was gone.

Three doctors tried to find it in my eyes and that was the one who diagnosed the Blepharitis too.

He said it would come back and I said it had been 4-5 months. It is now almost a year.

There are 2 people who killed this off using 2 different products, both with Benzethonium Chloride in them.

It may sound too easy but I was desperate to get rid of it.

I learned to blog to help others.

There is a way to wear mascara and eye shadow and not re-infect yourself. If you need that info let me know. You need to wash each eye with a different washrag (white to put in the bleach load) so as to not re-infect too.

Hope this helps you to get relief soon that 2 of us now have.

Hi Lynda79, did you also continue with the warming/bathing with baby shampoo while you were using the wet ones? Did you use them along the margin of your eyelids, and if so did you have any adverse reaction to them?

    Dear Honjon,

I had no reaction at all. I blogged a Dr. and he asked if I rinsed my eyes after and I said "No."

I did not continue with the shampoo as did not need to. The relief was immediate each time I used them.

With my eyes open I did the bottom eyelash area and the top pushed the lashes up. Then closed my eyes and rubbed really good the top lashes. I did it twice with separate sections of the wipe. It was 4 times a day for a week and about a half. Depending on how bad your Blepharitis is you may have to go 2 weeks before you go down to 3 times a day.

A Dr. did tell me to use a warm rag on my eyes in the morning to get things going he said. He said to take fish oil capsules and flax for my eyes. I do these things.

You need to read the package back and see if you are allergic to anything in the wipes. This cure was because of desperation.

My friends Blepharitis moved up onto her eyelids. She used a facial scrub with Benzethonium Chloride in it.

Someone on the Treato site couldn't believe that after 3 days she was feeling better.

They say necessity is the mother of invention. It may well be for the cure for things too.

I use these wipes on a friend who is in a rest home and really old. She has yellow gunk on her lashes. I tried water and then just pulled out a wet one. I could not believe how fast it got rid of it. It is bacterial too.

I hope you are able to feel the relief soon. I still do not have Blepharitis. It did not come back. It did take several months. You may be able to speed it up by never going down to 2 times a day. Stay at 3 times a day and you may shave off a month. It just feels so much better is why I went down to 2 times a day.

Please let me know how you are doing.

    Dear Honjon,

I forgot to mention that you need to wash each eye with a different washrag. I used white to put in the bleach load. You do not want to re-infect your eyes.

Women can wear mascara while getting rid of this. I did. Anyone need that info let me know. It involves throw away wands.

This is only really hard to do for the first week or two. After that it is a breeze.
